CONTINUED UNSEASONABLY CHILLY DESPITE ABUNDANT SUNSHINE….

This morning was the coldest morning of the season so far with
the low dropping to 24F (23.5F). While this wasn’t close to record
territory, it was still a solid 11 degrees below the expected low
for today’s date!

Sunshine has been the theme today, however high clouds are starting
to fill-in across the southwestern through northwestern horizon as
our next system approaches the area. While on the chilly side, it
has still been a rather nice day as the wind has not been much of
a factor.

Temperatures have rebounded into the low to mid 40s early this
afternoon, again, below normal levels, but all in all not bad at
all. The dew point has been fairly consistent in the low to mid
20s the last couple of days.

As mentioned, the wind has been on the light side, and has become
rather variable in direction early this afternoon. The average
speed for the day is around 8mph, but the trend has been for
decreasing speeds over the past 2-3 hours. If this sounds like a
broken record, it’s because the exact same thing happened yesterday
as well. The highest gust for the day occurred back just before
5am this morning at around 20mph.

The visibility has been decent today, holding between 50-60 miles
all day.

The maximum temperature so far today is 44F, which is 7 degrees
below the normal high of 51F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 24F, which is 11 degrees below the normal low of 35F.
