A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS WITH AN INCREASINGLY BRISK NORTHERLY BREEZE….
A few snow showers moved through the area last evening bringing
a dusting to some areas, including here at Blue Hill. While it
wasn’t enough to be considered measurable, there was a coating
left on some of the colder surfaces early this morning.
Mainly cloudy skies was the theme this morning, but they have
broken up to allow for a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon.
Temperatures have made it to the mid to upper 40s early this
afternoon, but are still below normal levels for today’s date.
The dew point has been holding in the low 30s all day, so a bit
more moisture is in the air today than yesterday.
The wind started the day off quite light, including 3 consecutive
hours of calm air between 2-5am this morning. However, the speeds
have been on the increase as the day progresses. The average speed
for the day is around 5mph to this point. The highest gust for the
day so far is 21mph, which occurred just before the 1pm observation.
The visibility has been limited today, likely due to the higher
moisture content of the air. The view was only 20 miles early this
morning, but has improved to around 40 miles early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 47F, which is 4 degrees
below the normal high of 51F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 31F, which is 3 degrees below the normal low of 34F.
