About the Program

What is LYMC?

Launch Your Meteorology Career, a Blue Hills Nature Academy program is designed for aspiring meteorologists and students hoping to study atmospheric sciences. Set on the summit of Great Blue Hill at one of North America’s oldest weather observatories, LYMC gives students a genuinely immersive experience that no classroom can replicate.

Students work one-on-one and in small groups with veteran meteorologist Tim Kelley, exploring the full spectrum of careers in meteorology — from broadcast to research to field observation — while gaining hands-on experience with real forecasting, real data, and real instruments.

Scholarships of various levels are available for a limited number of applicants. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
