Help keep the record going.

Every day since 1885, observers at Blue Hill Observatory have read the instruments and written down what the sky was doing. Members keep that work going: daily observations, a National Historic Landmark, and weather and climate science for students, teachers, and families.

Visit every week or follow from a thousand miles away. Either way, you belong here.

How do gift memberships work?

Do I need to visit to be a member?

No. Many members follow the Observatory from afar through SkyMail and the Observatory Salon. Your support matters just as much.

Is my membership tax-deductible?

Blue Hill Observatory & Science Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Your membership is deductible to the extent allowed by law, minus the fair market value of any benefits you receive. Your receipt will state the deductible amount.

Does my Friends of the Blue Hills or Mass Audubon membership include the Observatory?

No. They are separate organizations with separate memberships, and we are glad to share the hill with them. Observatory membership supports the Observatory directly.
