UNSEASONABLY CHILLY WITH A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS TODAY ON BLUE HILL….
We started the day in the mid to upper 20s early this morning, but
we have only recovered to the low 40s by early this afternoon. The
normal high for today should be in the low 50s! Other than the chill,
it is a rather delightful day under a mix of sun and clouds. The
wind has been light, so that helps to prevent it from feeling too
uncomfortable outdoors.
The dew point has been gradually rising from the low 20s to the
mid 20s. Regardless, the air mass is quite dry today.
As mentioned, the wind has been on the light side, and has become
rather variable in direction early this afternoon. The average
speed for the day is around 9mph, but the trend has been for
decreasing speeds over the past 2-3 hours. The last hour for
instance has only averaged 4mph. The highest gust for the day
occurred back just after midnight at around 20mph.
The visibility has been decent today, starting off at around 40
miles early this morning, but improving to around 60 miles by
early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 41F, which is 10 degrees
below the normal high of 51F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 27F, which is 8 degrees below the normal low of 35F.
