ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)

MORNING SUNSHINE, BREEZY WITH INCREASING PM CLOUDS….
Snow moved into the area yesterday evening just after 6pm and
tapered off after 2am. Blue Hill received 1.7″ of snow from
this clipper system, with 0.13″ of liquid equivalent. This
addition puts us at a flat 50.0″ of snow for the season.
Temperatures have been trending above average for the first time
in quite a while (22 January to be exact), so this has been a
nice welcome from the freeze we have been under. This morning,
temperatures were as low as 26F and improved quite dramatically,
hitting 40F by the early afternoon. Dew points have been in the
mid to upper 20s throughout the day.
Winds have been steady out of the west-northwest for much of the
day. Wind speeds have averaged around 14 mph, with an increase
in speed over the past couple of hours. The peak gust for the day
so far is 34mph, which occurred at 1:17pm this afternoon.
Visibility has struggled today due to fog and hazy conditions.
This morning visibility was around 30 miles and ‘improved’ to
40 miles.
The maximum temperature so far today is 40F degrees, which is
4 degrees above the normal high of 36F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 26F degrees, which is 7 degrees above the
normal low of 19F.
