SUNSHINE THIS MORNING GIVING WAY TO INCREASING HIGH CLOUDS….
We started the day with plenty of sunshine despite a few high
and mid level clouds floating by. However a solid layer of cirrus
has overtaken the sky by early this afternoon as our next clipper
system approaches the region.
Temperatures have “warmed” into the mid 30s by early this
afternoon. Despite this still being slightly below normal for the
date, it actually feels rather nice out there compared to how
cold it has been. Dew point values have been gradually on the
rise as well, from the lower single digits early this morning to
the mid teens by early this afternoon.
Also adding to the comfort outdoors today is the fact that the
wind has become quite light. A northwest flow has been gradually
backing around to the south-southwest. The average speed for the
day so far is around 9mph, although the last few hours have been
averaging between 3-5mph. The peak gust for the day so far is
22mph, which occurred just after midnight.
Visibility has been decent today, with the view improving from
30 miles early this morning to around 60 miles by early this
afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 35F degrees, which is
1 degree below the normal high of 36F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 14F degrees, which is 5 degrees below the
normal low of 19F.
