DRY AND COOL WEATHER TODAY WITH INCREASING CLOUDS

Today is shaping up to be a below average day for temperatures, with a
chilly morning low temperature of 29F and an afternoon high so far of 44F.
The air has been very dry today, with a dew point falling to near 20F this
afternoon.  The day began mostly clear, but high clouds quickly invaded the
sky during the mid-morning hours, which has helped keep the temperature down.
The wind has been less blustery today than yesterday, when it gusted up to
37mph.  Today’s peak gust so far is only 25mph.  Visibility has become
very good this afternoon, up to 85 miles, which is near our maximum value.

Despite a beneficial rainfall of 0.31 inches on Thursday, we remain
locked in a dry pattern with little precipitation expected this coming week.
A yearly precipitation surplus that topped 5.50 inches in early September
is now a deficit of around 1.50 inches, and this deficit will likely continue
to grow during the mostly dry conditions expected for the next several days.
A trace of precipitation was recorded yesterday, which included a light rain
shower as well as some snow pellets.
