DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2013
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
SHOWERS EXIT EARLY THIS MORNING
MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON
Some light rain fell during the very early hours of this morning, totaling
only 0.08 inches. By 7:00, the showers had mostly moved offshore. Clouds
have remain numerous throughout the day, however, with only occasional
sunshine observed. Despite the lack of sun, the temperature has risen
to 52F by 1:00 this afternoon, which is equal to the average for today’s
date. The morning low was an above average 40F. The wind has again been
steady but fairly light today, rarely gusting past 20mph. The wind
direction has been mainly S-SW, which has helped the warmer air move in
after the past two days were both below average.
This morning’s rainfall of 0.08 inches did little to help our growing
precipitation deficit, as we remain locked in a dry pattern with little
precipitation expected this week. A yearly precipitation surplus that topped
5.50 inches in early September is now a deficit of over 1.50 inches, and this
deficit will likely continue to grow during the mostly dry conditions
expected for the next several days.
