CONTINUED WARM TEMPERATURES WITH INCREASING HIGH CLOUDS….
The weak area of high pressure that moved over the region
yesterday has pushed well to the east today. A cold front is
currently pushing through the region this afternoon with little
activity associated with it, more or less just a wind shift.
Today featured a mix of sun and clouds through the morning, but
the clouds have thickened early this afternoon. As such the sun is
now quite filtered and not shining enough to burn our sun card.
Temperatures have again warmed into the low to mid 80s this
afternoon, which is again more than 10 degrees above the normal.
Dew point values have been creeping up today ahead of the cold
front, with values rising from the mid 50s to the low 60s. So
it does feel a bit humid out there this afternoon.
Winds have been fairly steady through the day, generally out
of the west-southwest. The average speed for the day so far is
around 11mph. The peak gust for the day so far is 25mph, which
occurred just before 1pm this afternoon.
Visibility has been limited today due to increasing haziness.
We started with a view of around 60 miles early this morning,
but it lowered to around 40 miles by early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 84F degrees, which is 14
degrees above the normal high of 70F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 62F degrees, which is 11 degrees above the
normal low of 51F.
