MORE CLOUDS THAN SUN WITH A BRISK WIND AND CHILLY TEMPERATURES….
Skies have been dominated by cloud cover again today as a cold
pool of air aloft sits over the region. What little bit of sun we
get becomes self destructive allowing more low level clouds to
develop. A brief very light rain shower also moved through during
the mid morning hours, but only brought a trace of rain. All in
all it’s been a dry day, albeit on the chilly side.
Temperatures are below average for today, at least in terms of
maximum temperature so far. Readings have only made it to the
upper 40s early this afternoon, which is about 8 degrees below
seasonal levels. Dew point values are on the lower side only
gradually rising from the mid 20s to around 30F. Of this the
dry air is also adding to the chilly feel.
Winds have been busy out of mainly a westerly direction. The
average speed for the day so far is around 19mph. The peak gust
for the day so far is 44mph, which occurred before 3am this
morning.
Visibility has been excellent today with a view of 70-80 miles
throughout the day.
The maximum temperature for today is 49F degrees, which is 8
degrees below the normal high of 57F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 38F degrees, which is equal to the normal low
of 38F.
