CONSIDERABLY MILD WEATHER CONTINUES WITH RAIN SHOWERS THIS MORNING….
Clouds are once again dominating the sky today as a weak frontal
boundary drapes the region. Rain showers moved through this morning,
some of which were briefly heavy. Some spots even reported thunder
although none was observed here at Blue Hill. Intermittent very
light rain showers are still occurring early this afternoon, as a
backdoor cold front, which has pushed through Boston to Quincy,
slowly pushes west-southwestward toward Blue Hill.
Temperatures remain well above normal with the overnight low in
the mid to upper 40s, and so far readings reaching the mid 60s by
early this afternoon. This is once again a solid 15F degrees or
more above the normal values for today. Dew points have risen to
the mid 50s today, as such it actually feels a bit humid,
especially compared to the low values over the weekend.
Winds have been fairly steady today, mainly out of the southwest.
The average speed for the day so far is around 13mph. The peak gust
for the day so far is 24mph, which occurred around 9am this
morning.
The visibility has been quite limited today due to the rain and
fog this morning, and then general haziness early this afternoon.
The view was as low as 4-5 miles during the rain showers this
morning, but has improved to around 30 miles early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 65F degrees, which is
16 degrees above the normal high of 49F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 47F degrees, which is 15 degrees above the
normal low of 32F.
