PLENTY OF SUNSHINE WITH LIGHT WIND AND NEAR SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES….
Today has featured a great deal of sunshine with much lighter
wind and temperatures that are much closer to normal once again.
The temperature has reached the mid 30s early this afternoon. With
the light wind, higher sun angle, and the level of recent cold, it
really does feel rather nice out there today. Dew point values
continue to remain on the low side however, with readings once again
mainly in the single digits. Despite the temperature getting to or
slightly above the freezing mark, the very low dew point doesn’t
really allow for much if any melting to take place.
Winds are on the light side today, starting out of the north-
northwest early this afternoon, then becoming more variable by early
this afternoon. The average speed for the day so far is around 9mph,
but the trend has been for decreasing speeds as with the last hour
or so only averaging around 3-4mph. The peak gust for the day so far
is 18mph, which occurred just after 5:30am this morning.
Visibility has been excellent today, with the view holding between
60-70 miles all day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 34F degrees, which is
1 degree below the normal high of 35F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 15F degrees, which is 3 degrees below the
normal low of 18F.
