CLEAR SKIES WITH ABUNDANT SUNSHINE, BUT THE ARCTIC AIR MASS REMAINS….

Today has featured plenty of bright sunshine with crystal clear
skies. Definitely a great day for skiing or other winter
activities despite the continued very cold temperatures.

Temperatures once again started the day in the single digits,
something has become a habit at this point. Readings have recovered
however to around 30F by early this afternoon. This is still below
normal for the date! The wind has remained busy, so the wind chill
continues to make it feel much colder, with values in the mid
teens. Dew point values have been slowly on the rise, from the
single digits below zero to the single digits above zero by late
this morning and early this afternoon.

As mentioned, the wind continues to be on the busy side. A
northwest flow has been averaging at around 16mph for the day so
far. Gusts have been frequently exceeding 25mph today. The peak
gust for the day so far is 37mph, which occurred just after 11am
this morning.

Visibility has been decent today, with the view improving from
40 miles early this morning to around 70 miles by early this
afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today is 30F degrees, which is
6 degrees below the normal high of 36F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 5F degrees, which is 13 degrees below the
normal low of 18F.
