SLIDING PRESSURE, SNOW, RISING TEMPERATURES AND EASTERLY
WINDS DOMINATE THE START OF A POTENT NOR’EASTER.

Cirrostratus crept into the region during the day yesterday
ahead of a low pressure system that wreaked havoc in the
South and Mid-Atlantic. Light snow began today just after
6:00 AM becoming moderate to heavy around 12:20 PM. Visibility
at 7:00 AM was 5 miles, down to 3/4 of a mile by 10:00 AM.

Sea Level Pressure during today’s observations:
7:00 AM:  30.23
10:00 AM: 30.09
1:00 PM:  29.84

Peak Gust as of 1:00 PM: 37 MPH ENE @ 12:27 PM

At 7:00 AM only 0.1 inch of snow had fallen, with a liquid
equivalent of a trace of water. By 1:00 PM 2.5 inches of snow
had fallen with a liquid equivalent of 0.37 inches of water.
