DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY

SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION, STRONG WINDS AND
VERY LOW PRESSURE OBSERVED AS NOR’EASTER
DEPARTS THE REGION.

Snow which fell at rates of 2 inches or more per hour
yesterday afternoon added to a total liquid equivalent
of 2.04 inches that fell between 7:00 AM yesterday
and 7:00 AM today.

Barometric pressure fell rapidly and steadily throughout
the day yesterday and this morning, reaching a remarkably
low 28.14 inches of mercury at our station, or 28.84
inches of mercury when reduced to sea level. This
reading marks the lowest pressure of the year without
question, and possibly the lowest in several years.
Further review of our records will clarify this soon.
