COOL AND CALM TODAY WITH SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES….
Thin fog that prevailed this morning was slow to lift, but once
it did, cloud cover prevented us from seeing too much sun
or blue sky today. Even so, we remained dry though the daytime
hours. Visibility has improved as the day progressed, but
we had increasing cloudiness despite that.
Temperatures dipped down to 49F during the early morning hours
which is our normal low for this time of year. Temperatures were
slow to rise, mostly since we were in the clouds for much of the
day, preventing us from hitting the normal high (so far) of 66F.
Still though, with dew points in the lower 50s it feels a little
less crisp and cool, but still overall very comfortable compared
to just a couple of days ago.
Winds have shifted quite a bit today. We started with a dominant
northeast flow during the overnight hours and have since shifted
to the east-southeast. With this shift, winds have been lighter.
The average speed for the day so far is around 9mph. The peak gust
for the day so far occurred just after 9am with a speed of 24mph.
Visibility started off at only around 30 miles due to lingering
fog, but slowly improved to around 50 miles by the early afternoon
hours.
The maximum temperature so far today is 63F, which is 3 degrees
above the normal high of 66F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 49F, which is equal to the normal low.
