MAINLY CLOUDY AND COOL TODAY WITH A LIGHT ONSHORE WIND….
As a warm front approaches the region, a lot of cloud cover of
the mid and high varieties have been the theme today. Some peeks
of mainly filtered sunshine has been seen this morning. Despite
the somewhat gloomy look, overall it’s not a bad day out there.
Temperatures are a bit on the cool side for mid March with
readings only reaching near 40F by early this afternoon. Dew
point values have been on the lower side as well with readings
mainly in the low 20s, although it did drop into the mid to
upper teens for a time late this morning and early this
afternoon.
The wind was steadier overnight into very early this morning
before really dropping off for the balance of the morning. It
has gradually picked back up as we pushed into the early afternoon
hours. The direction shifted from the west during the wee hours
of this morning to easterly by late this morning. The average
speed for the day so far is around 8mph. The peak gust for the
day so far is 20mph, which occurred just before 3am this morning.
Visibility has been excellent today despite the cloudy skies.
The view has been around 70 miles all day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 41F degrees, which is
3 degrees below the normal high of 44F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 28F degrees, which is 2 degrees above the
normal low of 26F.
