OVERCAST SKIES THROUGH EARLY THIS AFTERNOON WITH PERIODS OF RAIN….

Skies remained overcast through early this afternoon with a line of
rain showers moving through between the mid morning hours and early
this afternoon. The showers were moderate to heavy for a time between
11am and 1pm, yielding 0.55″ of rain within that 2 hour period. The
rain ended just after the 1pm observation with sunshine starting to
break through the clouds soon after.

Temperatures were held in the 60s into early this afternoon due to
the clouds, fog, and rain. However with the sun trying to pop out
as of this writing, readings are approaching the 70F degree mark.
Dew point values are of course high thanks to all the moisture in
the air with readings in the mid to upper 60s through the day.

Winds have once again been on the light side today, generally out
of a east to northeast direction. It did briefly shift to the west
when the heaviest of the rain showers moved through, likely due to
a bit of an outflow boundary. However it quickly went back to being
onshore once the showers moved through. The average speed for the
day so far is only around 5mph. The “peak” gust for the day so far
is a measly 14mph, which occurred just after 1pm this afternoon.

Visibility was quite limited this morning due to fog with a view
of only around 1/16th to 1/8th of a mile. It did improve to around
10-20 miles during the mid morning hours before the band of rain
moved in, after which point it dropped again down to around 1 mile.

The maximum temperature so far today is 69F, which is 10 degrees
below the normal high of 79F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 62F, which is equal to the normal low.
