OVERCAST SKIES AND CONTINUED DAMP AND COOL CONDITIONS TODAY….
Skies have remained overcast today, with dense fog this morning
continuing until at least mid morning. Even with visibility improving,
fog still has lingered around the summit and lowlands. Light drizzle
and mist has been occurring throughout the day, but so far we have
only recorded 0.01″ of rain today.
Temperatures have not fluctuated much today, but have remained well
below average for this time of year. The overnight low was 63F and
so far, we have only increased a few degrees above that point, at
68F. Dew points have nearly matched the temperatures as rain and
foggy conditions maintain increased humidity.
Winds continue to be out of the north east with a slight shift to
the east-northeast by late morning. Winds have been on the light
side today, with an average speed for the day so far of only around
8mph. The highest gust so far for the day is 19mph, which occurred
just before 4am this morning.
Visibility has been inconsistent, with about 10 miles of views
early and a drop to around 5 miles by mid morning. However, by
the afternoon, visibility increased to around 30 miles.
The maximum temperature so far today is 68F, which is 12 degrees
below the normal high of 80F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 63F, which is 1 degree above the normal low of 62F.
