ANOTHER DAY OF ABUNDANT SUNSHINE WITH MILDER TEMPERATURES….
Today has featured mainly clear skies with the exception of
some high thin cirrus clouds spread out across the area,
especially during the morning hours. With a light wind and a
still high-ish sun angle, it didn’t feel too bad out there at
all today.
Temperatures started chilly at 36F early this morning, but they
recovered fairly quickly through the morning hours reaching the
low 60s this afternoon. This is now a bit above normal as we
push through the latter 3rd of October. Dew points have remained
on the lower side with values mainly in the upper 20s to low 30s.
This is indicative of a fairly dry air mass over the region.
Winds have been quite light today and somewhat variable through
the day, although they have settled out of the northwest this
afternoon. The average speed for the day so far is only around
6mph. The peak gust, if we can call it that, is only 12mph,
which occurred just before 8am this morning.
Visibility has been excellent again today with a view of 70
miles all day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 60F, which is 2 degrees
above the normal high of 58F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 36F, which is 5 degrees below the normal low of 41F.
