WARMER TEMPERATURES, ALL DAY SUN WITH LIGHT AND VARIABLE WIND….
This morning we had one of those rare “not a cloud in the sky”
observations which is hard to do from our vantage point. Since
then, there has been some cloud development offshore to our
southeast, but over land it has been bright blue skies for days!
Temperatures dipped down to the mid 40’s which was a bit warmer
than the area due to the inversion layer. Even Mt. Washington was
warmer than us at 7am today! With all day sunshine and warmer
air, we have made it to slightly above average temperatures for
this time of year. Dew points have also remained low, indicative
of the continued high and dry conditions we have had over the
past few days. Dew points have ranged from the upper 20’s to mid
30’s.
Winds have been a bit all over the place today, with light and
variable conditions throughout the day. In the last couple of
hours, the wind has been more westerly, but it has been to light
the it has been variable. The average speed for the day so far
is only around 5mph. The peak gust so far for the day is 13 mph,
which occurred just before 1pm this afternoon.
Visibility has been excellent again today with a view of 80
miles all day. There was a layer of smoke this morning along
the horizon, but it has since dissipated.
The maximum temperature so far today is 65F, which is 7 degrees
above the normal high of 58F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 44F, which is 3 degrees above the normal low of 41F.
