INCREASING HIGH CLOUDS, BUT STILL A PLEASANT DAY WITH NEAR
SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES AND LIGHT WIND….
Today has featured plenty of filtered sunshine as some high thin
cirrus clouds stream into the region from the remnants of
hurricane Isaias.
Temperatures are near seasonal levels today with readings
reaching the low 60s early this afternoon. The air is even
drier today than yesterday as the dew point has now dipped into
the mid 30s. This is adding a decisive chill to the air today
making it feel cooler than it really is.
Winds were strongest during the wee hours of the day, but have
been decreasing as high pressure builds over the region. The
average speed for the day so far is 10mph, mainly out of a
north-northwesterly direction. The peak gust for the day so far
is 22mph, which occurred just before 3am this morning.
Visibility has been excellent all day with a perfect view of
around 90 miles this morning, but scaling back to around 80
miles early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 61F, which is 2 degrees
below the normal high of 63F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 44F, which is 2 degrees below the normal low of 46F.
