WINDY AND MILD UNDER A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS….
Today has featured mainly sunny skies, especially earlier this
morning. Diurnal clouds have increased a bit this afternoon
giving a nice mix of sun and clouds. The air mass today is drier
than yesterday, as such the air is clearer allowing for an
excellent view from the summit today. Temperatures are again a
bit above normal, but with the gusty wind and drier air, there
is a bit of a chilly feeling out there.
As mentioned, temperatures are once again running just a touch
above normal today with readings reaching the mid 60s early this
afternoon. The biggest difference from yesterday are the dew
point values, which were a good 10-15F degrees lower today.
Readings have been generally in the mid 40s throughout the day.
Winds are gusty again today generally out of the west and west-
northwest. The average speed for the day so far is around 16mph.
The peak gust for the day so far is 39mph which occurred just
after 11am this morning.
Visibility has been excellent all day with a view of around 70
miles.
The maximum temperature so far today is 66F, which is 2 degrees
above the normal high of 64F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 47F, which is equal to the normal low.
