DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY

ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
LIGHT RAIN THIS MORNING BUT CLEARING AND MILD THIS AFTERNOON
A period of light rain occurred early this morning on the summit, with most
of the precipitation falling between 6:00 and 7:00 this morning. Only
0.01 inches of rain were measured. By 8:00, the sky was beginning to
clear, and sunshine was observed soon after. The temperature has risen
steadily all day today, even during the hours after midnight, with our
morning low of 35F occurring right at midnight. Helped by the increasing
sunshine, the temperature was up to 54F by the 1:00 observation this
afternoon, making for a pleasant day. It has been a breezy day, with the
wind averaging over 15mph from the S-SW so far, with gusts up to 32mph.
Nearing its midway point, March continues to run cooler than normal by over
four degrees. Precipitation has been well below average, with our monthly
deficit climbing closer to two inches despite some precipitation earlier
this week.
