SUNNY START GIVES WAY TO INCREASING CLOUDS; STILL ON THE COOL SIDE….
Skies were clear first thing this morning, giving us a very nice
sunrise. High clouds quickly began advancing into the region by
the mid morning hours with skies now mainly cloudy by early this
afternoon with some filtered sunshine.
Temperatures have remained below normal today, rising from the mid
30s early this morning to the low 50s by early this afternoon. The
normal high and low for today should be 61F and 42F respectively.
Dew point values started in the low 30s early this morning, but
just like the past couple of days, has dipped into the mid 20s by
early this afternoon. This, along with a breeze off the ocean, is
adding a decided chilly feeling to the air.
Winds were light during the first half of the morning, but has
since increased a bit. Wind have generally been out of an easterly
direction for the day so far. The average speed for the day so far
is around 6mph. The peak gust for the day so far is 18mph, which
occurred around 9:20am this morning.
Visibility has been quite decent today with the view improving
from around 50 miles early this morning to around 70 miles by
early this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 50F degrees, which is 11
degrees below the normal high of 61F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 36F degrees, which is 6 degrees below the normal low
of 42F.
