BREEZY AND SEASONABLE TODAY WITH INCREASING CLOUDS….
The low that moved through yesterday brought record breaking
wind to Blue Hill and some much needed rain. The total
precipitation was 0.64 inches which helps, but we are still
-1.82 inches for the month and -7.62 inches for the season.
It was nice to see something in the rain gauge that wasn’t
an insect or pollen.
Temperatures have been close to seasonal today, with an
overnight low of 60F and so far a high of 77F. The real
difference though is the dew point values, which have been
in the lower and mid 50s today. Compared to the mid 60s from
yesterday, today feels much more comfortable.
Winds have been out of the west for much of the day, though
the early afternoon saw a slight shift to the west-northwest.
It has been quite breezy throughout the day, but not as gusty
as yesterday. The average speed for the day so far is around
16mph. So far the peak gust for the day is 37mph, which occurred
just before 2pm.
Visibility started around 70 miles this morning which is usually
rare for this time of year. Even so, with the lower dew points
and clear skies we were around 60 miles for the remainder of the
day today.
The maximum temperature so far today is 77F degrees, which is
1 degree above the normal high of 76F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 60F degrees, which is 1 degree above the
normal low of 59F.
