ANOTHER DRY AND SEASONABLE DAY TODAY ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL….
Mostly clear skies were observed during the early morning
hours and then as the temperatures warmed, clouds began
to increase. It’s been very similar to yesterday, with
seasonable temperatures and breezy conditions.
As mentioned, temperatures have been close to seasonable,
with an overnight low of 60F and so far a high of 77F. Dew
points have been slightly higher than yesterday, but with a
gusty west-northwest wind, it hasn’t felt too bad overall.
Winds continued from the west yesterday into the overnight
and early morning today. After around 8am EST, the wind shifted
slightly to the west-northwest where it has been for much of
the day. It has been quite breezy throughout the day with
frequent gusts in the 25-30mph range. The average speed for the
day so far is around 17mph. So far the peak gust for the day is
38mph, which occurred just after 10am.
Visibility was around 60 miles for the early part of the day. As
the dew point and temperatures increased, visibility went down to
around 50 miles during the early afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 77F degrees, which is
equal to the normal high. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 60F degrees, which is 1 degree above the normal low of 59F.
