BREEZY, WARM, AND HUMID TODAY WITH A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS….
Clouds dominated the sky first thing this morning along with a
bit of fog. This was the leftovers of the significant rainfall
we received late yesterday afternoon and evening. Showers and
thunderstorms brought 1.15″ of rain to the Hill within only a
few hours, 0.58″ of which fell in 1 hour between 4-5pm.
Clouds finally began to break by mid morning with a mix of sun
and clouds being the theme since.
Temperatures started the day on the warm side thanks to the high
humidity. Readings have reached the low 80s by early this
afternoon. Dew points have been held in the low 70s through the
day, so it feels quite muggy out there today.
Winds have been on the busy side again today, but not as windy
as yesterday. They have been out of mainly the southwest today
averaging at around 14mph for the day so far. Gusts have been
frequently exceeding 20mph throughout the day. The peak gust so
far is 29mph, which occurred just before noon-time.
Visibility has been gradually trying to improve a bit, from
around 30 miles early this morning to around 40 miles by early
this afternoon. With the high humidity, it is of course on the
hazy side.
The maximum temperature so far today is 81F, which is 1 degree
below the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 69F, which is 5 degrees above the normal low of 64F.
