BECOMING WARMER AND MORE HUMID WITH A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS…
Skies started the day on the clear side with only a few mid and
high level clouds around. A batch of mid level clouds, the
leftovers of some rain showers that moved across western Mass
this morning, have reached the local area early this afternoon
giving us a period of mostly cloudy skies. On the balance
however, today has featured a mix of sun and clouds.
The early morning temperature dipped into the lower 60s which
felt quite refreshing with the breeze. Readings quickly warmed
during the morning with abundant sunshine. We had reached the
low to mid 80s by the mid morning hours. As mentioned, the batch
of clouds moving through early this afternoon has, at least
temporarily, put a halt to the rise. The dew point on the other
hand has been gradually rising through the day, from the mid 50s
very early this morning to the mid 60s by early this afternoon.
As such, it has become noticeably more humid this afternoon.
Winds have been fairly steady out of the south-southwest to
southwest throughout the day. The average speed for the day so
far is around 11mph. The peak gust so far for the day is 26mph,
which occurred right around 12:40pm this afternoon.
Visibility has been limited today thanks to haziness. With the
increasing humidity, this trend is expected to continue. The
view has been holding around 35 miles through the day so far.
The maximum temperature so far today is 85F, which is 3 degrees
above the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 62F, which is 2 degrees below the normal low of 64F.
