MORE SEASONABLE TODAY WITH LOWER DEW POINTS, LIGHT WINDS SHIFT
FROM NORTHERLY TO EASTERLY BY AFTERNOON…
Skies were mostly cloudy today with some clearing by the early
afternoon. Plenty of fair weather cumulus clouds were observed
along with some cirrus throughout the day. It’s been a typical
summer day but with much lower dew points than yesterday. This
difference has made being outdoors much more tolerable today.
Temperatures have been more seasonable today, with an overnight
low of 66F. Temperatures increased to the low 80’s by the early
afternoon hours which is just about normal for this time of year.
Dew points have held steady in the upper 50’s and low 60’s for
much of the day.
The wind has been on the light side today, with a north-north easterly
flow during the overnight. Winds have been more easterly since the
mid morning hours. The average speed for the day so far is around
8mph. The peak gust so far for the day is 19mph, which occurred
at 8:30am this morning.
Visibility has held steady at 35 miles throughout the day due to
hazy conditions.
The maximum temperature so far today is 81F, which is 1 degree
below the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 66F, which is 2 degrees above the normal low of 64F.
