MAINLY CLOUDY SKIES AND HUMID TODAY WITH NEAR RECORD WARMTH….
Despite not having much of any sun today, temperatures really
ramped up today with the mercury reaching the low to mid 70s
here on the summit this afternoon. A few light rain showers
moved through this morning bringing 0.02″ of water, but other
than that, it’s been a dry day despite the higher humidity levels.
So far the temperature has reached 73F, which is 1 degree shy
of the record for the day. Dew points have risen to the upper
50s which is making it feel a bit humid out there.
Winds were steady around 10-14mph during the morning, but has
since diminished to much lighter speed early this afternoon.
Over the past couple of hours, the average has been closer to
3mph. The direction started out of the southwest, but has gone
to the northwest in the last hour. The peak gust for the day
so far is 30mph, which occurred just after 2am this morning.
The visibility has improved markedly today, from around 25-25
miles early this morning, to a surprisingly 70 miles by early
this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 73F degrees, which is
23 degrees above the normal high of 50F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 39F degrees, which is 7 degrees above the
normal low of 32F.
