FAIR AND COLDER WEATHER TODAY WITH AN INCREASE IN CLOUDS….
Today has been quiet and dry with clear skies this morning giving
way to increasing high cirrus clouds. There was plenty of sunshine,
through the morning, but has become very filtered early this
afternoon.
Temperatures have been close to normal today, with readings early
this morning dropping to the mid 20s. They have recovered to
the low 40s by early this afternoon. Dew point values have been
on the low side, generally in the low 20s, which is indicative of
much drier air over the region today compared to the last couple
of days.
The wind was steady overnight into very early this morning, but
has dropped off to light speeds by the mid to late morning hours.
It has been increasing a bit once again early this afternoon.
The direction gradually shifted from northwest this morning to
the southwest by early this afternoon. The average speed for the
day so far is around 10mph. The peak gust for the day so far is
32mph, which occurred just before 1am this morning.
Visibility has been excellent all day, holding at around 70 miles.
The maximum temperature so far today is 42F degrees, which is
1 degree below the normal high of 43F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 25F degrees, which is 1 degree below the
normal low of 26F.
