A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS WITH WINDY AND COLD CONDITIONS TODAY….
Today has featured a mix of sun and clouds with a blustery
wind and below normal temperatures. It’s definitely not an
ideal day to be outdoors without proper winter gear.
Temperatures started the day in the upper 20s and have only
recovered to the upper 30s to near 40F by early this afternoon.
This is more than 10 degrees below the expected high for the
date. Dew point values have been holding in the upper teens
and lower 20s today, indicative of a polar air mass over the
region.
The wind continues to be busy today with west-northwesterly
winds frequently gusting over 30mph. The average speed for
the day so far is around 20mph. The peak gust so far today
is 45mph, which occurred just before 9am this morning.
Visibility has been decent today, starting at around 50 miles
early this morning, then increasing to around 70 miles by
late this morning.
The maximum temperature so far today is 40F degrees, which is
10 degrees below the normal high of 50F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 29F degrees, which is 4 degrees below the
normal low of 33F.
