SUNSHINE AND SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES TODAY FOLLOWING YESTERDAY’S LIGHT
SNOW EVENT….
The light snow event yesterday yielded a total of 1.7″ of snowfall and
a 0.12″ liquid equivalent. Despite this, both snowfall and precipitation
values continue to be below normal for the month so far.
Today is featuring mainly clear skies with only a few clouds of various
types, levels, and quadrants, mainly off in the distance. As such,
sunshine has been the theme today making for a pretty scene with the
snow cover on the ground.
Temperatures have “warmed” to the mid 30s by early this afternoon, which
is essentially normal for this time of year. After the cold spell of
last week, it does feel pretty nice out there today, especially in the
sun.
Winds have been fairly steady today out of the northwest and north-
northwest. The average speed so far for the day is around 13mph. The
peak gust occurred around 2:13am, during which time winds were going
through a gusty period. The peak value was 35mph.
Visibility has been decent today, generally holding in the 50-70 mile
range.
The maximum temperature for today is 35F degrees, which is equal to
the normal high of 35F. The minimum temperature since midnight is 19F
degrees, which is equal to the normal low of 19F.
