SOME SUNSHINE THIS MORNING, BUT CLOUDS RAPIDLY INCREASING TODAY….
We started the day with some cloud cover, which then moved out and
allowed for a few hours of decent sunshine. However, clouds quickly
overtook the sky again during the late morning hours and have stuck
with us since. These clouds are associated with a cold front that
will push through the region overnight, bringing an end to the “mild”
temperatures we’ve experienced the last couple of days.
Temperatures are above normal today with the morning low only in the
mid 20s, and reading reaching the upper 30s by early this afternoon.
This has definitely been a nice reprieve from the very cold conditions
we have dealt with most of the month.
Winds are generally on the light side, but have at times picked up
a bit into the 10-15mph range. Overall, the average speed for the day
so far is around 8mph out of mainly a westerly, to at times south-
westerly direction. The peak gust so far for the day is 20mph, which
occurred just before 11am.
Visibility has been limited due to haziness. The view has been
generally stuck around 30 miles.
The maximum temperature for today is 39F degrees, which is 4 degrees
above the normal high of 35F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 26F degrees, which is 8 degrees above the normal low of 18F.
