EARLY MORNING SHOWERS MOVE OUT FOR AFTERNOON SUNSHINE….
The region finally received the anticipated rain we so desperately
needed. Although we are still in a deficit both monthly and annually,
the 1.64″ total between yesterday and today has really been a great
help to the brush fires and the parched soil. Hopefully as the low
pushes through this weekend we will be able to squeeze out a bit more
precipitation as well.
Temperatures rebounded nicely once the morning rain and clouds moved
to our north. With the dampness of the rain event and the breezy
conditions, there is still quite a chill to the air though, but it’s
an improvement from yesterday’s raw feel.
While the wind has not been as active as yesterday, we have still had
some gusty conditions today. The average so far is 16.3 mph with a
pretty solid southerly flow. The peak gust so far today occurred just
after 1am at around 47 mph.
Visibility was slightly impacted this morning due to the rain showers
moving through. We improved from 30 miles to 50 miles by 1pm.
The maximum temperature for today is 52 degrees, which is 4 degrees
above the normal high of 48F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 40F degrees, which is 8 degrees above the normal low of 32F.
