REMAINING BREEZY WITH ABUNDANT SUNSHINE….

Skies have largely been clear today, with just a few stratocumulus
well off in the distance, particularly offshore. Following the passage
of a weak cold front yesterday, the dew point has dropped into the mid 20s.
Combined with the breeze, today’s conditions are not ideal for fighting
the many wildfires in the area. Smoke plumes could be seen to the
N-NNE and E this morning, with some others to our S-SSW becoming
apparent by noon.

After a warm spell the past several days, temperatures have returned to
a more seasonable level. The low this morning was in the upper 30s, with
temperatures slowly rising to the low 50s by the early afternoon. As before
mentioned, the dew point has dropped off significantly compared to yesterday
as an even drier air mass moves in.

Winds were very active yesterday, and though they have slowed a bit, it has
remained breezy. The average speed to this point is 16mph, mostly out of the
north-northwest. Our peak gust occurred early this morning around 1:20am, with
a speed of 40mph.

Visibility has been excellent thanks to the low dew points, and has held
steady at 80 miles.

The maximum temperature so far today is 50F, which is 2 degrees
below the normal high of 52F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 38F, which is 2 degrees above the normal low of 36F.

November began quite warm, with two monthly top five temperatures
and the latest 80 ever observed. This information was compiled
by our chief scientist, Mike Iacono:

BHO Warmest November Temperatures, deg F (1885-2024):
