THE SUMMER PATTERN CONTINUES WITH HAZY, HOT, AND HUMID WEATHER
PERSISTING ….
The summer weather continues as we have yet another day with
temperatures above normal along with high levels of humidity.
An area of mid level clouds moved over the area from late
morning into the very early part of the afternoon, which has
helped to cap the temperature in the upper 80s so far. If not
for this cloud patch, we would have easily made it to the mid
90s. Either way, as the cloud patch moves out and the sun
returns, the temperature should still reach 90F today.
The dew point is in the mid 70s, so it’s oppressive out there.
The heat index at the 1pm observation is 99F with an air
temperature of 88F and a dew point of 76F!
Making matters a bit worse is the fact that today is another
low wind day. The average speed for the day so far is only
around 8mph. The peak gust so far is 18mph, which occurred
just after the 1pm observation.
Visibility has been limited today due to haziness, generally
holding around 30 miles all day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 88F, which is 6 degrees
above the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 72F, which is 8 degrees above the normal low of 64F.
