DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY

ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

MUCH COOLER AND DRIER, CONTINUED WINDY

Temperatures are about 20 degrees cooler than yesterday! Yesterday saw a
high temperature in the mid 60s with dew points in the lower 60s.

Much colder and drier air has invaded the area today behind the cold front
that moved through the area yesterday. The high temperature for the day of
46F occurred early this morning just after midnight. The low so far today
of 37F occurred between 9 and 10 o’clock this morning, but will be pushed
lower later tonight. Dew point temperatures have fallen into the upper
teens this afternoon.

Winds were rather strong yesterday, averaging a little more than 17 mph.
Winds continue on the strong side, generally in the 15-25 mph range with
occasional gusts of 30-40 mph. The peak wind for the day of 46 mph from
the WNW occurred early this morning shortly after 3 A.M.

Rainfall is needed as moderate drought conditions have developed across much
of the area. Precipitation from September 2 through November 19 (79 days)
has only been 3.69 inches, or 34% of the 30-year average of 10.93 inches.
