DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY

ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
ANOTHER DAY OF CLOSE TO RECORD BREAKING HIGH
TEMPERATURES…
Temperatures continued to be close to record breaking
after yesterday’s high max of 88F. The record for both
today and yesterday is 92F set during an early season
heat wave back in 2001. Today we reached a max so far
of 90F, this is 27 degrees above the daily normal of
63F. Yesterday’s low temperature of 58F was 4 degrees
below the record for high minimum of 62F also set in
2001. So far, since midnight, we have a record breaking
minimum temperature of 67F, but this record will not
be set if temperatures drop down below 66F before
midnight.
The wind has been mostly from the SW and picked up
yesterday afternoon making for a breezy day today with
frequent gust over 30 MPH this afternoon. Heavy rain
shower began after our scheduled observations around
2:30 P.M. EST and ended just before 3:00 P.M. EST.
The sky had a mixture of clouds increasing as pressure
began to drop. Visibility continued to be obscured by
a distant haze limiting visibility to 40 miles at each
observation.
