HUMIDITY CONTINUES AS WINDS AND WARMTH STAY
STEADY FROM THE SOUTH
While yesterday’s maximum of 75F and average temperature
of 67F were both well above the daily norm (61F daily max,
43 daily average), the daily record maximum of 79F, set in 2000,
was not in jeopardy of being broken. Today’s warmth appears set
to continue with an overnight low of just 62F, which is above
our daily average maximum.
Light fog and ragged and thin cumulus fractus were present at
level with the observatory this morning, limiting visibility
to 15 miles in most directions although sky cover above that was
mostly clear. Barometric pressure continues to drop slowly
as well, likely bottoming out in the next couple of days.
By the 1:00 PM EST observation a maximum of 79F was reached,
just 4 degrees below today’s daily record maximum of 83F,
set in 1897.
