TOTALING 0.27 INCHES
Unseasonable warmth on Monday brought temperatures to
a maximum reading of 76F by 2:30 PM EST yesterday afternoon.
Yesterday’s daily departure of +10 degrees along with a second
a warm second week of October have brought monthly temperatures
back to near normal after a cooler than normal start to the month.
Forecasts for the second half of this week indicate a return
to cooler than normal temperatures may well be on the way.
Rain showers that began this morning dropped 0.11 inches by the
7:00 AM EST observation, and an additional 0.15 inches by the
10:00 AM EST observation.
By the 1:00 PM EST observation another 0.01 inches of new
precipitation was recorded before rain ended just after 10:00 AM
EST this morning. Skies were somewhat chaotic with cumulus,
cumulus fractus, altocumulus and cirrocumulus covering most
of the sky. Sunshine and a continued SSW flow allowed for
a maximum temperature so far of 69F.
