BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
TUESDAY, MARCH 11, 2014
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
A FOGGY START TO THE DAY WITH CLOUDS AND HUMIDITY
GENERALLY DECREASING AS TEMPS REACH THE MID 50S.
Following yesterday’s half winter and half spring-like day,
temperatures remained above freezing through last night reaching
54F by the 1:00 PM observation.
Visibility at this morning’s 7:00 AM observation was reduced to
10 miles in all directions due to a layer of fog below the station
that was generally lifting and decreasing. The sun struggled
to break through some thin overcast for most of the morning until
skies began to clear leaving mostly thin cirrus fibratus for sky
cover.
With a 54F maximum so far for today, this puts us 11 degrees over
the normal daily high of 43F for this date.
