TUESDAY, JANUARY 31, 2017

SUNNY SKIES TURN OVERCAST BY EARLY AFTERNOON

The morning’s mostly sunny skies had turned overcast
by the 1:00PM ob as the low pressure system which is
set to bring 4-6 inches of snow moved toward the region.
Visibility fell from 70 miles during the morning obs.
to 35 miles by early afternoon.  Cooler temperatures
were seen today with an overnight low of 15F, our first
low below 20F since mid-January.

This has been a much warmer than normal January, averaging
approximately 8F above normal so far. While temperatures
have returned to more seasonable levels, there is a good
chance we will end up amongst the 10 warmest Januaries on
record at Blue Hill.
