PLENTY OF SUNSHINE WITH WARM TEMPERATURES AND A GUSTY BREEZE….
Despite the high thin cirrus clouds, abundant sunshine has been the
theme once again today with well above normal temperatures. The only
“negative” one can find today is the amount of pollen in the air,
which has actually reduced visibility quite a bit late this morning
into early this afternoon.
Temperatures have warmed well into the 70s today, and are getting
close to 80F. While it is quite warm for this time of year, it isn’t
quite at record levels. For reference, the record high for today is
85F set in 1974. Dew point values have slowly increased from the mid
30s early this morning to the low to mid 40s early this afternoon.
Winds have become quite gusty as the day has progressed. A southwest
to west-southwest wind has been gradually increasing with an average
for the day so far of around 16mph. Frequent gusts over 30mph have
been occurring since the mid morning hours. A gust of 37mph occurred
during the 10am observation period, which has been the peak for the
day so far.
Visibility decreased from around 60 miles early this morning to only
around 30-40 miles by late this morning and into this afternoon. The
reduction is due to increased haziness from the very high pollen
count.
The maximum temperature for today is 78F degrees, which is 16 degrees
above the normal high of 62F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 53F degrees, which is 10 degrees above the normal low of 43F.
