THE DRY SPELL CONTINUES WITH PLENTY OF SUNSHINE AND WARMER
TEMPERATURES….
With only 0.04″ of rain for the month to date, we are now running
a 1.27″ deficit in the rainfall department. There is still no
rain in sight over the next week or so, as such this dry spell
looks to continue. This morning’s Drought Monitor still indicates
no drought locally, but abnormally dry conditions are showing
up in parts of Essex and Nantucket counties. I would have to
imagine these conditions will begin to spread across the region
soon if the current weather pattern persists.
At any rate, today is yet another great weather day with plenty
of sunshine and slightly above normal temperatures.
Temperatures have reached the low 80s early this afternoon, which
is now considered above normal as the normal high for this part of
the year is in the mid 70s. The dew point is a bit higher than
yesterday with values running in the mid 50s.
Winds were again quite light this morning mainly out of a west to
southwesterly direction. However it has picked up a bit early
this afternoon with more of a southerly component. The average
speed for the day so far is only around 7mph. The peak gust so far
for the day is 18mph, which occurred before the 1pm observation
period.
Visibility has once again been decent with the view holding at
around 60 miles most of the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 81F, which is 6 degrees
above the normal high of 75F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 58F, which is 1 degree above the normal low of 57F.
