EARLY MORNING CLOUDS MOVE OUT TO LEAVE US WITH A STUNNING SPRING DAY….
A cold front passed through the area last evening. An area of low
pressure rode along the front early this morning before moving out
to sea. A drier, but mild air mass was left in its wake giving
us one of the best days we’ve seen so far this spring.
Clouds moved out early this morning after the late yesterday
afternoon and overnight rainfall left 0.30″ of water in the gauge.
Sunshine quickly took over giving us a glorious day for outdoor
activities. With a pleasant breeze and temperatures reaching the
mid 60s, this has been very close to a top ten day!
As mentioned, temperatures are very pleasant this afternoon with
reading in the mid 60s. This is actually normal for this time of
year. Dew point values started the day in the upper 40s as the
air was still saturated from the overnight and early morning
rainfall. But the air has dried out considerably this afternoon
with values dropping to the low to mid 30s. Just perfect air
for this time of year.
Winds are much lighter than they have been the past couple of
days. While still a bit of a breeze, it’s very tolerable. A
general west-northwest wind has been averaging at around 10mph
for the day so far. The peak gust so far is 26mph, which occurred
just after 2pm this afternoon.
Visibility has been quite decent today with a view of 60-70 miles
through the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 64F degrees, which is
1 degree below the normal high of 65F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 46F degrees, which is equal to the normal low
of 46F.
