BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
THURSDAY, JUNE 4, 2026
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0409E
SUNSET: 1917E
SUMMER-LIKE TEMPERATURES UNDER SUNNY SKIES, BUT STILL COMFORTABLE
HUMIDITY LEVELS….
An area of high pressure centered along the spine of the
Appalachains is continuing to build eastward toward the East
Coast. Meanwhile ridging has built in aloft helping to usher
in the much warmer air mass over the region.
With the above mentioned high pressure building in, today has
been another stellar day in terms of lack of cloud cover with
plenty of sunshine being observed. Only a few thin high level
clouds have been passing overhead through the day.
Temperatures are even warmer than yesterday as the heart of the
ridge builds overhead. Readings have pushed into the mid to
upper 80s by early this afternoon. Thankfully, dew point values
are still quite comfortable in the low to mid 50s range.
Winds have been mainly on the light side again today. A westerly
flow has gradually gone around more to a southwesterly flow. The
average speed for the day so far is around 9mph. The peak gust
so far for the day is 23mph, which occurred just after midnight.
Visibility has been limited all day due to the high pollen count.
The view started at around 50 miles early this morning, but has
lowered to 35-40 miles by late this morning and early this
afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 87F degrees, which is
15 degrees above the normal high of 72F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 57F degrees, which is 3 degrees above the
normal low of 54F.
