ABUNDANT SUNSHINE AND SEASONABLY COOL WITH A LIGHT WIND….
Skies have been mainly clear today with only a few high thin clouds
passing over by early this afternoon. With temperatures just under
seasonal norms, a much lighter wind than yesterday, and an ever
increasing sun angle, it feels rather nice out there especially
compared to the arctic chill we had to begin the week.
Temperatures started the day in the low to mid teens, but “warmed”
rather quickly this morning through the 20s, reaching the low 30s
by early this afternoon. The dew point started in the single digits,
but has risen into the low to mid teens by the mid to late morning
hours. This is still indicative of a modified arctic air mass
in place over the region.
As mentioned, the wind is much lighter than yesterday. A general
northwest to north-northwesterly flow has been the theme today.
The average speed for the day so far is around 9mph. The peak
gust for the day so far is 18mph, which occurred just after 10:15am
this morning.
Visibility has been decent today, ranging between 40-60 miles
throughout the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 32F degrees, which is
3 degrees below the normal high of 35F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 13F degrees, which is 5 degrees below the
normal low of 18F.
